Dr. Sara Brownell
Sara Brownell is a President's Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University and Director of the Research for Inclusive STEM Education Center. As a neuroscientist turned discipline-based education researcher, she explores how to make undergraduate science learning environments more inclusive, particularly for individuals with concealable stigmatized identities. She has received international recognition for her research with over 140 publications. She is a AAAS Fellow, has received the 2024 Bruce Alberts Award for Excellence in Science Education, and was nationally recognized as the 2020 LGBTQ+ Educator of the Year.
